T.I. Sentenced to 1 year and a day on Friday March 27th. The rapper was arrested in October 2007 and charged with trying to buy unregistered machine guns and silencers from undercover federal agents. He testified at his trial that he attempted to buy the weapons to protect himself after his best friend, Philant Johnson, was killed by bullets he believed were meant for him.
T.I. has made more than 250 public appearances at churches, schools and community centers, a reality show on MTV called “Road to Redemption”. The show takes a different approach to dealing with teens and instead of trying scare teens straight, he reaches out to them knowing their struggle. None of his work on the show is credited toward his community service requirement, it’s a great show.
Once released he begins three years of probation and will serve 365 days of house arrest, though he has already been credited for 305 days. At a news conference after his sentencing T.I. said, “It brings me great pleasure and honor to say to you today that I have begun to close this chapter in my life with, of course, the help and blessings of the U.S. attorneys and the courts of the U.S. government.”
Flo-Rida’s new video “Magic” from his upcoming mixtape “R.O.O.T.S.” out March 31st. directed by Chris Larceny for Poe Boy Films. The video compliments the “feel good” vibe of the song. In the opening scene Flo-Rida is in the studio writing a new track or something. Every time 305 Magazine has gone to Poe Boy or met up with Flo-Rida he’s ALWAYS writting. He’s always working on new music and puts in work. Believe his opening words in the video. Did he say “I love yall Stockholm, Sweden” at the end???
