Kimbo Slice – 1974-2016

Kimbo Slice

While the rest of the country had UFC for MMA and different Boxing leagues. Miami had back yard fighting in Perrine and the King was Kimbo Slice. YouTube videos gave shine to the legendary fights. He had the fame of a young Mike Tyson. I grew up saying “Want to watch an ass whooopin?” Then put a Kimbo fight on. Soon after the internet fame Kimbo moved up the ranks and joined the UFC. Although his professional career took loses and a few wins. Miami stood behind him each fight. Kimbo Slice inspired many to stay out of trouble and take their talents to an MMA ring. Dada 5000 and Level are two that come to mind. Level continues his career and trains for the next challenge and Dada 5000 starting his own league BYB (Back Yard Brawls). 2016 has been a year of losses in the spotlight.

Rest in Power Kimbo Slice
