Wade Cellars: Chenin Blanc
Chenin Blanc is a popular grape varietal in parts of France and South Africa and it’s having a big resurgence here on the West Coast. In California it’s most widely planted in the Central Valley about an hour east of the Napa Valley and just south of Sacramento – which is where we source our fruit.
Wine talk aside, Chenin is just plain cool. It produces a silky white wine with thirst-quenching acidity but enough weight to make its presence known. It’s not Sauvignon Blanc. It’s not Chardonnay. It’s Chenin. And it’s straight up delicious.
