A Jokes Flick: Toyed
We’re really excited to see this short film is coming soon. If you’re a fan of wall art, murals, cryptic words on walls, or as the rest of the world calls it: graffiti. Then you’re going to relate to TOYED. Based on Miami circa 1991, which was a completely different world vs the Miami of today 2016, the graffiti scene was not welcomed with open arms. There were police units dedicated to catching those “delinquents” some might even say there was a special unit out to get them. We’ll keep you posted on the film as we get closer to its release. Big shout-out to Jokes and everyone involved int the film. Can’t wait to see it!
Since its birth in 1980’s New York subways graffiti exploded all over the worlds parking artists like Shepard “OBEY” Farrey (Barack Obama poster) and “BANKSY” (Oscar Nominated “Exit Through the Gift Shop”) in to world renown artists with collections worth millions. Today, Miami’s Art District is a mecca of graffiti featuring some of the most celebrated works in street art, but it wasn’t always like this. In 1991, Miami was a true under dog in the world of Hip-Hop/Graffiti, but a movement of teenagers were determined to incredibility, respect and fame for their city.
